Why is that? According to Cihlar, "You have to increase exercise volume and intensity over time to increase muscle mass." Since Pilates typically involves lighter weights at higher repetitions—and heavier weights with fewer repetitions are usually recommended to optimize muscle growth—you may not see the same gains. - Pilates is excellent for flexibility, posture, strengthening abdominal muscles, and injury prevention/recovery.
