Available in November, it will have a $199 pricetag, an 11.6-inch screen, have 2 GB of RAM, and be powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor. It will also come with 100 GB of free OneDrive storage.An even better deal may be the HP Stream 14, which is expected to be available in time for the holidays. The $199 laptop will be powered by a quad-core AMD A4 Micro-6400T chip running at 1.6 GB. It will have 2GB of RAM and a AMD Radeon R3 graphics chip. The screen will be a 14-incher with 1366 by 768 resolution. It has an SDXC slot for additional storage with a variety of cards. It's got got an HDMI port, one USB 3.0 port, and two USB 2.0 ports. It's got two models: A cheap one and a really cheap one. Amazingly, the cheap one look much better than the usual Chromebook dross. Read More Samsung's Gear S smartwatch is just too big Samsung Electronics is experimenting with different shapes and sizes on its smartwatches, but with the Tizen-based Gear S it has gone overboard. The Gear S doesn't need a smartphone to function, thanks to its integrated 3G SIM card and network connection. It's powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor and has a curved 2-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 480 by 360 pixel resolution. The screen size makes it bigger than previous smartwatches from Samsung and its competitors. For example, the Gear Live has a 1.63-inch screen and LG's new G Watch R has a 1.3-inch screen. Last week Apple saw its request for an injunction on U.S. sales of infringing Samsung products, including the Galaxy S 3 smartphone, denied by Judge Lucy Koh in the San Jose division of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. It has this weird curved screen edge, which may take some getting used to.In IT Blogwatch, bloggers wonder if it's a gimmick or genuinely useful. Since its inception three years ago, the Galaxy Notes have become as important for Samsung as its Galaxy S range of smartphones.

The S8 comes with an Intel Atom quad-core processor, clocked at 1.83 GHz, and the 8-in. display has 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, according to Andrew Barrow, Lenovo's director of consumer product marketing and PCs, in a telephone briefing in advance of the IFA trade show in Berlin. Lenovo ranks third in tablet shipments in the world and has been the top PC maker for 21 quarters in a row, company officials said. The company has also broken into the top four-largest smartphone suppliers globally, and is rumored to be launching new smartphones at IFA for sales in China and in other countries where it sells smartphones.
