However, the emergence of cloud computing and new dynamic business requirements that involve communicating with multiple partners and suppliers have forced enterprises to embrace new connectivity models. This article describes a manufacturing company use case that illustrates the benefits of separating the control plane from the data plane through software defined networking (SDN).
