Cisco acquires video collaboration company for $700M
Cisco this week said it intends to acquire London-based Acano Limited, a privately held company that provides collaboration infrastructure and conferencing software, for $700 million. Acano's hardware and software products include gateways, and video and audio bridges designed to allow customers to connect video systems from multiple vendors across both cloud and hybrid environments. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2, which is the software's first big update since March, is now generally available, with new additions focusing on containers, security, networking and system administration. Cisco tweaks certs for changing IT landscape
Cisco this week updated its certification program reflect the changing skills sets needed as the industry moves to Internet of Things, cloud and network programmability. The company's Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) Data Center and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security have been 'refreshed,' Cisco says, to reflect these new disciplines. Read More

Dell admits installing security hole on laptops, apologizes, offers fix
Dell acknowledges a root certificate it installed on its laptops was a bad idea and is pushing a patch to permanently remove it. In a blog post company spokesperson Laura Thomas says eDellRoot was installed as a support tool to make it faster and easier for customers to service the devices.
