Google promises a Hadoop or Spark cluster in 90 seconds with Cloud Dataproc
Getting insights out of big data is typically neither quick nor easy, but Google is aiming to change all that with a new, managed service for Hadoop and Spark. Cloud Dataproc, which the search giant launched into open beta on Wednesday, is a new piece of its big data portfolio that's designed to help companies create clusters quickly, manage them easily and turn them off when they're not needed. Online backup service provider Backblaze today announced a new service offering: as much storage as you want for half a cent per gigabyte per month. Backblaze's new B2 Cloud Storage, is a raw cloud storage service, meaning data is not encrypted or manipulated in any way. Users can encrypt their own files prior to storing them on the service for added security. Read More
