Consolidating Remote Servers and Storage for Security
A new kind of storage architecture allows IT to consolidate remote servers and
data in the data center by decoupling storage from its server over any
distance--even thousands of miles--and still get the same performance as if the
storage remained local to the branch.

Securing Edge Data at the Center
Even as enterprises focus relentlessly on consolidation of data centers, they
continue to aggressively expand the roles and numbers of branch offices, often
located in remote locations that are difficult to support and protect. That
poses the issue of how to protect data on the edge of the network, which may be
subject to a variety of risks.

There is no universal right to be forgotten, says top EU court advisor

responsible for third party information in its search results and that there is
no universal "right to be forgotten" under the current data protection laws.

Darlene Storm: An EFF sticker on your laptop is an Insider Threat warning sign?
Although it's the golden age of surveillance, the feds still claim to be 'going
dark' and want more domestic surveillance powers. Edward Snowden had an EFF
sticker on his laptop, which was called a 'warning sign.' Tired of federal
officials playing word games, a congressman has a bill that basically says
"answer me or you're fired!" In the war on leakers, the Insider Threat Program
extends beyond trying to identify national security threats to requiring federal
employees to keep close tabs on co-workers, snitch on their stressed-out
friends, and punish people who fail to report their suspicions.
