Both consumer and employee privacy rights requests have increased in popularity as legislation has become more well-publicized. The internet and social media have made the dissemination of this information easier, too.

However, fulfilling these requests is difficult, time-consuming, and error-ridden at best. This is due to the complexity of the fulfillment process and the resources required to complete a request.

Consumer and employee privacy rights requests share many of these same challenges. Fulfilling both types of requests follows similar steps, too. However, employee rights requests need more legwork in specific areas. Employers should understand exactly what they're up against and work to solve it with modern solutions.
