    Workflow Summit / London Recap

    Workflow Summit

The Workflow Summit in London happened on March 10th in the heart of London. We capped the attendance to keep the meeting small and interactive, and as developers of Workflow, we have learned a lot in terms of what’s more important vs. what’s less important. For example, documentation and evangelism still come high on everyone’s priority list. In the afternoon, a number of users presented their own successes in building CD pipelines around Jenkins and went through what that looks like. We took a lot of notes, and those are starting to get reflected in what we’ve done since then. Some of the speakers in that event will be back in JUC London to elaborate more, so stay tuned!

    Meetups

Test Automation for DevOps: Wednesday, June 24, 2015, 6:30 PM EDT, San Francisco, CA. Learn about scaling test automation with JMeter and Jenkins.

Are you interested in attending a Jenkins event like these? Keep an eye out for a Meetup near you. Or contact one of the Jenkins Meetup organizers to start your own!

    More about Jenkins Workflow

Workflow is a new feature in Jenkins. If you haven’t yet explored it, you must. It’s your ticket to readily automating all of your software delivery pipelines – no matter how complex. In the transformation to continuous delivery and DevOps, Workflow is a big jumpstart. Here are some ways to learn more:

  • Jenkins Workflow Plugin Tutorial: If you are a new user of Workflow, visit this GitHub page to get started with Jenkins Workflow, complete with Docker demo.

  • Blog: Continuous Delivery using Jenkins Workflow: There are many ways to implement continuous delivery with Jenkins, and many have shortcomings. This blog post  provides a brief overview of why Jenkins Workflow is a good option for continuous delivery with Jenkins.

  • Even More Workflow Resources: On this page, are a number of additional resources to learn more about Workflow and the value it can provide for you. Read blogs, watch a webinar or a how-to video, download a white paper or read a third-party product review.

    Upcoming JUC Sessions
Community input has been that more beginner-level, “how to” sessions at JUC are wanted. This year, Lorelei McCollum, Software Engineer at IBM, will be presenting a talk called “Jenkins 101” at JUC U.S. East. In her session, Lorelei will walk through how to get off to a good start. Meanwhile, Andrew Bayer is going to do a repeat performance of his standing-room only session at JUC last year on Seven Habits of Highly Effective Jenkins Users.  Lorelei and Andrew will have you feeling like a Jenkins Master in no time!

    Jenkins Articles:

In series of Sitepoint articlesPeter Nijssen wrote four articles about Jenkins:
