Richi Jennings: Apple's buggy iOS 6.1.3 breaks iPhone jailbreak
iOS bugfix has new bug. Nixes jailbreak. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) released a new
version of iOS, that finally fixes the lockscreen security hole. However, a
similar, new vulnerability has emerged, that isn't fixed by 6.1.3. It will also
prevent many people from escaping Tim's walled garden o' family-friendly,
parody-free tyranny, as it closes the loophole used by the latest jailbreak
tools. In IT Blogwatch, bloggers imagine egg on face at Infinite Loop.

Darlene Storm: Rules of cyberwarfare manual: Hacktivists can be killed, hacking pacemakers may be OK
The Tallinn Manual on the International Law Applicable to Cyber
Warfare is a first of its kind, addressing the do's and don'ts of
cyberwarfare with 95 "blacklisted" rules. A full-scale war can be triggered
by a cyberattack and civilian activists, hacktivists, who participate in these
attacks can be lawfully targeted with deadly force and killed. The NATO-backed
manual looks at cyber espionage, perfidy, cyberattacks on nuclear plants, and
gives numerous wild, sci-fi-like scenarios such as a lethal hack to a
pacemaker.
