If you're a frequent Facebook user (and even if you're not), you may be wondering if we really need another massive, general-purpose social network. Google certainly thinks so. Despite some early missteps in the social arena, the search giant has just rolled out a "field trial" of the Google+ social network. Currently available to a limited audience, Google+ integrates neatly with other Google products and offers intriguing approaches to both privacy and sharing content. PCWorld editors Mark Sullivan and Megan Geuss, who were both invited to play in the new sandbox, spent some quality time with Google+ and shared their observations (and plenty of screen shots) in "Google+ Social Network: Hands-On First Impressions." Get a sneak peek at Google's latest entry into the social sphere and decide for yourself whether to give it a spin when it officially opens its doors.
