It’s not new news that COVID-19 exposed enterprise security gaps. Hackers went to town – 90% of IT leaders saw an uptick in cyberattacks – while key security projects were delayed.

More alarming is the contrast that 85% of leaders felt ready to shift to a fully distributed workforce, yet 98% were caught off guard by security challenges they faced within the first two months. The top three security challenges include:

  1. Identifying new personal computing devices
  2. Overwhelmed IT capacity due to VPN requirements
  3. Increased security risk from video conferencing

In addition, 43% of CXOs reported trouble deploying patches, and 26% admitted to de-prioritizing patching all together during this time of transition.

What else is your enterprise facing in this distributed workforce?

In the first two months of the pandemic, Tanium helped hundreds of the world’s most demanding organizations transition to this unplanned, distributed workforce. We hope that their experiences, expert perspectives and findings of a recent global survey can help you as you gain foothold.
